Crawlspace Encapsulation Many people who need crawlspace encapsulation here in Georgia do not understand what we do and how we go about it. The following is a summary of our work, from start to finish to help you know exactly what's being done to your crawlspace when we serve you. Step 1 Prep the Crawl Remove any debris, old liners, trash, etc. from under the crawlspace. If insulation removal is included, the insulation will be removed as well. Step 2 Wrap it Up Begin installing the clear 10 mil wall liner to the foundation wall by using fasteners to hold the liner in place permanently. Install the clear 10 mil wall liner around all foundation piers using fasteners. Once all clear 10 mil liners are installed, the 12 mil white floor liner is ready to be installed. The liner needs to go up the wall liner 6 inches to create a water tight seal. This process covers 100% of the floor of the crawl. Seal all vent openings by using insulation board and foam sealer. Install dehumidifier and condensate pump. This allows any moisture sealed up in the encapsulation process to be removed before the final seal is installed. Step 3 Seal it up Check all joints of wall and floor liners, wipe all tape joints with dry cloth to create best surface for seal. Tape all liner joints with 4 inch seam tape. A dry seal is important in keeping moisture out of the encapsulation. Step 4 Check List
